2026-27 School Year Pleasant Valley Elementary School will offer a full traditional educational program with the following Visual and Performing Arts emphasis that will be unique to
Pleasant Valley:
1. Visual Arts (Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Digital Media) 2. Music (Vocal, Instrumental) ? Dance (Movement, Choreography) 3. Theatre Arts (Drama, Production, Technical Design) In addition, the program will utilize a school-wide Arts Integration model where VAPA concepts and skills are intentionally embedded in all grade-level curriculum. All staff will be required to support the following: 1. Agree to develop and implement Visual & Performing Arts units of study aligning core content standards with one or more arts disciplines. 2. Commit to engaging in ongoing VAPA-focused professional development and integrated curriculum training as required by the program. This may include, but is not limited to, conferences, site visits, and PD provided by HUSD in-house. 3. Agree to participate in and support school-wide VAPA events during the regular workday (e.g., student performances, showcases, arts festivals).
