Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic K-5 Physical Education Teacher to inspire students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade to develop a lifelong love for movement, health, and wellness. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster physical literacy, promote healthy habits, and support the overall development of young learners through engaging and inclusive physical education programs. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for working with children to create a positive and motivating environment that encourages all students to participate actively and confidently. Duties Design and implement comprehensive physical education curricula tailored to the developmental needs of K-5 students, incorporating elements of curriculum development and lesson planning. Lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote motor skills, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship while ensuring safety and inclusivity for all learners. Introduce a variety of activities including team sports, individual skills, cooperative games, and movement-based challenges Plan and organize school wide- events such as Field Day, fitness challenges or special activity weeks. Assess student progress regularly through observation, standardized testing, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support individual growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and supportive learning environment. Mentor students in developing healthy habits related to fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being; serve as a role model for active living. Proven experience in teaching physical education at the elementary level with strong classroom management skills. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and students' families. Strong lesson planning abilities that incorporate curriculum development best practices for engaging young learners.
Pay:
From $60,000.00 per year
