The Position:
We are interviewing immediately for an Adapted Physical Education position to support students with disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct Adapted Physical Education assessments and evaluations for students referred for Special Education services Develop, implement, and monitor individualized APE goals and objectives aligned with student IEPs Provide direct APE services to students with disabilities in individual and group settings Adapt physical education activities, equipment, and instructional strategies to meet student needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Behavior Specialists, and school staff Participate in IEP meetings and provide assessment findings, recommendations, and progress updates Maintain accurate service logs, progress reports, assessment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with IDEA and California Special Education regulations Promote student engagement, inclusion, physical fitness, coordination, motor development, and social interaction Ensure safe instructional practices and maintain appropriate behavior management strategies during physical activities Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and school personnel regarding student progress and participation Stay informed on current best practices, educational standards, and compliance requirements related to Adapted Physical Education services Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Adapted Physical Education, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field Valid California Teaching Credential with authorization in Adapted Physical Education (APE Authorization) Knowledge of
IDEA, IEP
development, and California Special Education regulations Experience working with students with disabilities in school-based or pediatric settings Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

$55.00 - $67.00 per hour
