Until filled For the 2026-27 school year, Greenwich Public Schools seeks a physical education teacher for the elementary level, location to be determined. Position Summary The position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops knowledge, skills, and abilities in Physical Education in alignment with the Greenwich Public Schools curriculum for each associated unit of study. Responsibilities Delivers content, concepts, skills, and assessments, as designated within the Greenwich Public Schools Physical Education / Health & Safety Education curriculum. Adapts curricular content, materials, and methods to develop relevant, sequential lesson plans that inform, guide, and challenge students. Develops lesson plans and supplementary learning activities compatible with the department's philosophy and aligned to unit, state, and national standards. Provides individualized, small-group, and large-group instruction in order to meet the needs of each student. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, inventory checklists, and other record-keeping activities as necessary. Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas. Evaluates each student's progress in meeting the class/unit standards for Physical Education. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an effective and productive classroom environment. Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress. Participates in faculty obligations and the sponsorship of student activities Qualifications Profile CT State Certification as a Physical Education, Grades PreK-12, teacher (#044) required
