We are seeking a passionate, high-energy Physical Education Teacher to lead our sports and wellness program for just 5 hours a week. This unique role serves our entire student body, ranging from elementary through high school. We operate as a private academy, you will enjoy smaller class sizes and a highly supportive environment, allowing you to focus on creating truly engaging physical activities that promote teamwork, motor skills, and lifelong fitness.
Responsibilities Multi-Level Instruction:
Design and implement PE lessons tailored to three distinct developmental stages within our private school community: Elementary (K-5), Middle (6-8), and High School (9-12).
Inclusive Play:
Facilitate games and exercises that accommodate varying athletic abilities and ensure all students participate safely and enthusiastically.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive, disciplined, and safe environment in the gym or outdoor play areas, upholding our school's values.
Equipment Oversight:
Set up and break down sports equipment for each session.
Requirements Experience:
Previous experience teaching or coaching children and adolescents is required.
Versatility:
Ability to pivot teaching styles between foundational motor skills (Elementary) and competitive/structured sports (High School).
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree preferred; teaching certification or specialized coaching background is a strong plus, but private school flexibility allows us to prioritize the right cultural fit and experience.
Reliability:
Since this role is specifically two days a week, consistent attendance is vital for the stability of our student program.
Clearances:
Must be able to pass a standard background check and fingerprinting. Benefits Small, respectful class sizes typical of a private school environment.
