Aug 1, 2026 Job Description St. Cecilia Elementary School, Ames, Iowa seeks a dynamic and student-centered professional to join our team as a part-time Physical Education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This could be a shared position with Sacred Heart in Boone, Iowa if the candidate chooses, which would then be a 0.9 to full time position. St. Cecilia's is a 150 student, pre-K-7 program. Sacred Heart is a This position requires a valid Iowa Teaching License with an endorsement which allows for teaching Physical Education to the preschool - 7th grade students.
Curriculum & Instruction:
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state standards while catering to diverse learning styles.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment that encourages student agency.
Assessment:
Monitor student growth through formal and informal assessments; provide timely, constructive feedback.
Communication:
Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
Professional Growth:
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events.
