Description:

Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a qualified High School Physical Education Teacher to provide engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes physical fitness, health, and lifelong wellness. This individual will foster a positive learning environment that supports student growth, participation, and achievement. This position will start with the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver Physical Education curriculum aligned to Illinois Learning Standards Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Maintain a safe and structured learning environment Monitor student progress and provide feedback Supervise students in all physical education settings, including locker room areas, and ensure a safe and respectful environment Support student privacy needs in accordance with district procedures Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and administration Communicate effectively with students and families Support building and district initiatives Assignments may be adjusted to meet student supervision and program needs

Qualifications:

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Physical Education endorsement Strong classroom management and instructional skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Commitment to student engagement and wellness

NOTE:

Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
