The ideal candidate will design and deliver a comprehensive PE program that promotes lifelong physical activity, health, and teamwork — all grounded in Islamic values of discipline, respect, and care for one's body. This role serves students in grades K-5 and requires someone who can inspire a love of movement and wellness in every student. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with school standards, state education requirements, and Islamic principles. Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons for students in grades K-5, managing classroom behavior and ensuring student safety at all times. Utilize varied instructional strategies including demonstrations, hands-on activities, and group work to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback on physical education skills and techniques. Provide additional support to students who need extra assistance, including students with disabilities or those struggling with specific skills. Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, self-discipline, and mutual respect. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the PE program aligns with the school's overall mission and goals. Participate in staff meetings and professional development to stay current on best practices in physical education.
Qualifications Required:
Valid state teaching license or certification in Physical Education Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field Experience teaching PE to elementary-age students (K-5) Strong knowledge of PE curriculum development and implementation Effective classroom and behavior management skills Ability to assess student progress and write detailed lesson plans Strong understanding of Islamic values and culture, with the ability to model and reinforce them in a school setting Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred:
Experience coaching sports at the school or youth level Background working with students with disabilities or special needs Knowledge of childhood development and its impact on physical education What We Offer A collaborative, faith-centered school community dedicated to developing students' physical wellness, character, and lifelong healthy habits.
