Principal Granger Christian School is a Christian school dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual formation. Our mission is to equip students to impact the world for Christ by cultivating hearts and minds through a biblical worldview. We are seeking a passionate, faith-filled Physical Education and Health Teacher to foster physical wellness and Christ-centered character in our students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Position Summary The PE/Health Teacher will plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education and health lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits in alignment with biblical principles. This role will also incorporate health education for secondary students and foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages lifelong fitness.
Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction:
Develop and deliver daily PE lessons for elementary and secondary students, focusing on motor skills, physical fitness, individual/team sports, and sportsmanship.
Health Education:
Teach high school/middle school health curriculum covering topics like nutrition, physical wellness, and personal health from a biblical perspective.
Biblical Integration:
Integrate Christian character, biblical sportsmanship, and the concept of stewardship of the body into all lessons and activities.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment, upholding school-wide discipline policies.
Supervision:
Monitor student activity during PE, recess, and school-sponsored events, ensuring safety and engagement.
Communication:
Maintain open and proactive communication with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and behavior.
School Events:
Organize and lead athletic events such as Field Day, fitness challenges, or school-wide wellness initiatives.
Qualifications Spiritual:
A strong, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a demonstrated Christian lifestyle. Must agree with the school's statement of faith and lifestyle statement.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field.
Certification:
State Teaching Certification (PE/Health) or ability to obtain ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) certification.
Experience:
Experience teaching physical education, preferably in a Christian school environment.
Skills:
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of CPR and First Aid required. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (approximately 75% of the day). Must be able to lift, stoop, bend, and move equipment up to [25-50] pounds. How to
