Full Job Description Purpose of Position/Summary:
This position is 3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function and exercise. Role Expectations (How we measure success): Enthusiasm for the content and developmental needs and energy of young students. Creative, engaging approach to lesson planning and use of resources. Focus on building and modeling interpersonal relationships with students, colleagues, and families. Demonstrate competence in Google Apps for Education and Chromebooks. Serve as a resource for administration, helping to develop a program that serves the needs of students and stays relevant as new technologies develop. Supervise students during lunch and parking lot duties. Plan, organize, and coordinate field day. All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in physical education preferred Valid Indiana teaching license preferred Strong technology skills, competent in the use of Google applications Flexible mindset with the willingness to adapt quickly to change Comfortable speaking in front of students in a classroom setting Willingness to follow classroom discipline policies and procedures
