  • Full-time West Noble Middle School is seeking an energetic, positive, and dedicated PE/Health Teacher for the upcoming school year.
This role is responsible for teaching students in grades 5-8 the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, healthy lifestyle choices, and overall personal wellness. The ideal candidate will create a safe, supportive, and active environment that encourages students of all ability levels to develop lifelong healthy habits.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Delivery:
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in both physical education (gym/outdoor fields) and health education (classroom setting) aligned with state standards.
Curriculum Development:
Design a comprehensive health and wellness curriculum covering topics such as nutrition, mental/emotional health, personal safety, alongside diverse physical activities and cooperative sports.
Classroom & Gym Management:
Maintain a structured, safe, and positive environment. Establish clear rules for equipment use, locker room safety, and classroom behavior.
Inclusivity & Differentiation:
Adapt activities and assessments to accommodate students with diverse physical abilities, skill levels, and learning needs, ensuring every student can participate and succeed.
Student Assessment:
Evaluate student participation, physical skill development, sportsmanship, and academic comprehension of health concepts through practical and written assessments.
Collaboration:
Partner with school administrators, colleagues, and the athletic department to promote school-wide wellness initiatives and support student success. Qualifications & Requirements Valid Indiana Teaching License in Physical Education and Health (Middle School setting/Grades 5-9 or P-12). Strong knowledge of adolescent physical, emotional, and social development. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate middle school students and foster a culture of respect and sportsmanship.
