Open Position:
Part-Time Physical Education Teacher Thacher Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to provide physical education instruction to Elementary and Middle School students during the academic year.
Schedule:
Approximately 15 hours per week
Compensation:
$40-$50 per hour, commensurate with experience The ideal candidate will have: A Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education, or a related field (preferred) Experience teaching and/or coaching school-aged children Strong communication and classroom management skills A warm, energetic, and engaging personality An appreciation for child-centered education Responsibilities include: Planning and leading age-appropriate physical education classes Promoting physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits Creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment Maintaining equipment and ensuring the safe use of activity spaces Collaborating with faculty and administration as needed About Thacher Montessori School Located just minutes from Boston, Thacher Montessori School serves students from Toddler through Middle School in a unique natural setting adjacent to the Blue Hills Reservation and the historic 7,000-acre Wakefield Estate, a 23-acre arboretum with livestock and specimen gardens.
