Statement of Duties:
•Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Principal, Director of Wellness K-12 and directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Saugus School Committee.
Qualifications:
Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education in Physical Education and Health (9 -12). Additional licensure 5-8 a plus. Experience teaching Wellness in grades (9 -12). Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable. Candidates for position in the high school must present evidence of training in the following areas: o Curriculum and methods for secondary education. o Psychology including adolescent psychology. Proficiency as evidenced through transcripts of undergraduate and/or graduate work in the field - Wellness (Physical Ed and Health). Preference will be given to candidates who furnish evidence of academic accomplishments and strength in Wellness.
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Building Principal and the Director of Wellness K-12.
