Long-term substitute physical education teacher (4 weeks)

Overview Flat River Academy is seeking an experience substitute teacher or certified teacher to complete the last 4 weeks of the school year teaching physical education to K-8th grade students . This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your teaching expertise in a supportive setting while gaining valuable experience. Responsibilities Deliver engaging lessons in the area of physical education. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment Utilize classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and promote positive student interactions Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student well-being Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administrator regarding student progress and classroom activities Adapt instructional strategies for students with special needs or those requiring additional support. Requirements Prior classroom experience in elementary, coaching, or sports management Experience managing behavior and implementing classroom management strategies effectively Ability to work with children of varying abilities, including those requiring special education accommodations Excellent communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively Ability to be prompt and reliable each day Substitute teachers are require to have a minimum of 60 college credits to qualify for a permit.
