As a destination school, STEP Academy ensures all students are nurtured and empowered to use their personal attributes and acquired knowledge to have the choice to participate in early college entry through the Minnesota PSEO program. STEP Academy is dedicated to the growth and development of our entire learning community: students, staff, parents, and administrators.

The Position:

STEP Academy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Full-Time MS Physical Education (PE)/Health Teacher to join our Burnsville K-10 campus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical activity, wellness, and healthy lifestyles for young students. This role includes creating an engaging, safe, and supportive learning environment where students can develop motor skills, understand the importance of physical fitness, and cultivate a lifelong love for physical activity. Instruction will also include foundational health education to support students' overall well-being.

Preferred Qualifications:

K-12 Physical Education license Experience working with middle school students Knowledge of Minnesota Graduation Standards for Physical Education and Health Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL) Cultural competence

Minimum Qualifications:

Any teaching license and willingness to obtain an out-of-area designation Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health, or related field (or any subject with PE/Health endorsement pathway) Ability to obtain a Tier 1 or Tier 2 teaching license, with willingness to work toward a higher-tier license Understanding of student development, physical fitness, and health education standards Cultural competence

Salary:

$42,500.00 - $59,802.00 per year How to
