Salary is commensurate with experience and certifications, and full benefits are offered. This individual will work collaboratively with the four-person Elementary School Global Arts team and grade-level teachers to build interdisciplinary learning experiences. Movement lessons should foster student leadership opportunities and project-based learning, while incorporating the standard course of study in dance and physical education. Following Qualifications:

Appreciation for the life and mind of the elementary scholar. Excited to incorporate the outdoor classroom, school garden, and connections to nature into the movement curriculum A long-term vision for building a K-8 school-wide physical education department. Appreciation for a project-based approach to curriculum design — commitment to develop a curriculum that is rigorous, relevant, and relationship-oriented. Teaching certification and a 4-year degree are preferred. Reader, writer, critical thinker, and attentive to current events that lead to opportunities to create learning experiences that guide students to make sense of the world in meaningful ways. Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to teamwork, willingness to learn, and readiness to reflect and grow. Values a highly collaborative approach to working with a diverse population of children and adults. Sense of humor and a high level of enthusiasm, flexibility, and spontaneity.
