Physical Education Description Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a full-time Physical Education and Swim Teacher with swim and water polo coaching experience beginning August 2026. As a Physical Education and Swim Teacher, the faculty member will teach K-6 swimming as well as physical education classes in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.
The successful candidate will possess:
Experience and confidence teaching swim to Lower School students; Knowledge of water safety and age-appropriate aquatic skill progressions; A dedication to improving the health and well-being of students through developmentally appropriate instruction; A deep knowledge of fundamental movement skills and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a fun, positive, and motivating manner; An ability to work collaboratively and generously with colleagues, both in teaching and coaching teams and across school divisions; Highly effective classroom management skills that maintain a safe learning environment; Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to ongoing professional development; and Excellent interpersonal skills, an adaptable attitude, and a sense of humor.
Qualifications for this role include:
A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in physical education or other related field; Prior experience working with Lower School students in a physical education and aquatic environment; and Prior experience coaching Middle and/or Upper School teams is a plus, but not a requirement. Salary range:
$80,000 - $178,000 (salary based upon experience)
