Full Time, SALARY RANGE:

$29.66•$31.37 JOB SUMMARY The Adapted Physical Education Teacher is responsible for providing physical education programming for students with varying abilities.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and implement a physical education program appropriate to the needs of all students. Develop and follow an individual education plan for each student. Assess the equipment and supplies needed to implement a quality program. Manage equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly way through appropriate storage. Submit orders for supplies and equipment to the Principal. Assist and supervise student teachers and/or aides Participate in all regularly scheduled parent conferences Attend staff and inservice meetings as appropriate Must be sensitive to the cultural diversity of others and facilitate trusting relationships and partnerships with board members, vendors, and coworkers. Ability to differentiate and / or provide adapted physical education programming Knowledge and instructional delivery in aquatics programming Organize schoolwide events that promote health and wellness for our students Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidates for this position will have: the ability to demonstrate and provide examples of continuous personal development and improvement; a student focused attitude; Communication skills (verbal and written); Problem solving skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects. EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and Initial Certification in Physical Education. Master's degree and Permanent Certification in Physical Education with adapted Physical Education concentrations preferred. CPR/AED trained. Water safety instruction (WSI), lifeguard and certified pool operated (CPO) preferred.
