Physical Education Teacher (K-6) SMART Academy - Cleveland, Ohio 2026-2027 School Year Position Overview SMART Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered Physical Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, structured environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits while aligning with our mission of developing the whole child. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education lessons for students in grades K-6 Promote physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment Implement school-wide behavior systems aligned with PBIS expectations Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of participation and growth Collaborate with classroom teachers to support whole-child development Organize and support school-wide events (field day, fitness challenges, etc.) Ensure proper use, care, and organization of equipment and facilities Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field Valid Ohio teaching license (Physical Education - P-12 preferred) Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Commitment to student growth, accountability, and high expectations Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an urban or charter school setting Knowledge of PBIS and structured behavior systems Experience integrating health and wellness concepts into instruction

Salary & Benefits Salary Range:
