We are looking for a Summer Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher for our RIDE‑approved school called The Groden School located on the East Side of Providence, RI with the age group being 5-21 year-old students (Near Hope Street ). This established program serves young learners with disabilities in a nurturing, innovative, and highly individualized environment.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 8:15AM-3:30PM Timeframe Needed:
late June- August 21, 2026Rate of Pay :

Highly trained support staff with Bachelor's‑level ABA and behavior management training Onsite collaboration with a BCBA, Occupational Therapist, and Speech‑Language Pathologist Strong administrative and clinical supportYour Impact:
As the Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher , you will: Modify the physical education curriculum and instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities ranging from ages 5-22 Develop individualized programs, improve motor skills, and ensure safe, equitable participation in physical activity, often working within school IEP teams Develop and monitor IEP goals and instructional plans that promote growth, positive behavior/activity and independence Schedule, implement, and oversee daily programming Collaborate closely with behavior specialists, therapists, families, and support staff Ensure accurate and timely completion of student and staff documentationWhat We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field ( Master's preferred ) All Grades Adapted Physical Education Teacher Certification through RIDE At least one year of experience as an Adapted Physical Education teacher is preferred Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills A genuine passion for supporting children with complex learning needs CPR/First Aid Certification (We provide training if needed) Safety Care Training (We provide training if needed) Ready to Make a Difference?
