Middle & High School Physical Education (PE) Teacher

Position Overview:

Pleasant View School is seeking a qualified, energetic, and culturally sensitive Physical Education Teacher to serve both middle and high school students . This is a full-time position ideal for educators with a passion for physical fitness, sports education, and personal development, and who are committed to teaching in a way that aligns with the Islamic values and modesty standards of our school community. We are particularly interested in candidates who also have coaching experience , as they may have the opportunity to contribute to our extracurricular athletic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate PE lessons for middle and high school students. Promote lifelong fitness habits, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Design and assess activities that support physical skill development, health education, and student well-being. Create an inclusive and respectful learning environment that reflects and upholds Islamic ethics, modesty, and values . Modify instruction and activities to ensure full participation for students observing modest dress codes , including those who wear the hijab . Collaborate with staff on cross-disciplinary initiatives and student support. Contribute to the school's athletic programs through coaching or team leadership (preferred). Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, and communicate with parents as needed. Supervise students during physical activities, ensuring their safety and well-being .

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field (required). State teaching certification or ability to obtain (preferred). Prior teaching experience in a middle or high school setting. Coaching experience in school or club sports (strongly preferred). Understanding of or willingness to learn about Islamic values, cultural modesty , and how to incorporate them respectfully into instruction. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to build strong rapport with students and staff in a faith-based educational environment.
