This role combines classroom instruction with athletic leadership, fostering a vibrant environment that promotes health, teamwork, and personal growth. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sports coaching, curriculum development, and student mentorship, creating an engaging space where students thrive physically, academically, and socially. Responsibilities Design and implement innovative physical education curricula that incorporate learning technology and align with educational standards. Lead and coordinate school sports teams, ensuring effective coaching across multiple disciplines while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. Develop and oversee athletic programs, including scheduling games, managing equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Mentor students in their athletic development, providing guidance on skill improvement, discipline, and goal setting. Collaborate with teachers on integrating physical activity into broader educational goals and support literacy education through active learning strategies. Manage classroom environments to foster positive behavior management and ensure inclusive participation for students of all abilities, including those in special education or Montessori settings. Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as tournaments, fitness challenges, and community sports events to enhance student engagement. Maintain accurate records related to student progress, standardized testing results in physical education, and athletic achievements. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration about student progress and program updates through clear public speaking and written reports. Requirements Proven experience teaching physical education at the classroom level with a strong background in classroom management and childhood development principles. Demonstrated success in sports coaching with a focus on fostering teamwork, discipline, and motivation among students. Knowledge of curriculum development for physical education programs that incorporate modern learning technology tools. Strong understanding of health & safety standards related to sports coaching and physical activities. Excellent communication skills suitable for mentoring students, collaborating with staff, and engaging parents effectively. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures in educational settings related to physical fitness assessments. Experience working with children across diverse learning needs including special education or private school environments is preferred. Ability to develop lesson plans that integrate creative writing techniques or literacy components into physical activities when appropriate.
