Position description The Department of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified, temporary, non-tenure track lecturers to teach a range of physics courses. Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available. We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach a range of lecture and laboratory courses in Physics. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include: Holding office hours; Assigning grades; Advising and communicating with students; Preparing course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and exams; Using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses) and/or maintaining a course website; and, Managing and mentoring graders and/or graduate student instructors.
