FullTime USNH Employees should within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The Department of Political Science and International Affairs seeks a lecturer to supplement their course offerings in international relations and comparative politics at the introductory and intermediate levels. Preference given to candidates with geopolitically salient areas of specialization (i.e., China or Russia) and topics highly relevant to contemporary global issues (i.e., human rights and the environment). The lecturer will deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students, emphasizing empirical and theoretical aspects through innovative course design and delivery. At least one course per semester will be
POLT 403 US
in World Affairs. The lecturer will be responsible for teaching, offering office hours, completing administrative tasks associated with course management and limited Department service. This is a one year, non-renewable appointment. Duties/Responsibilities (83%) Delivering in-class instruction. This position will teach 2 courses in fall 2026 and 3 courses in spring 2027. Office hours for 1-2 hours per course per week. This position must handle the administrative work associated with the course, including: Syllabus preparation, coordinating books/reading materials with the bookstore, maintaining Canvas, grading, responding to email queries from students, Department faculty and staff. (17%) Service activities in support of students, colleagues, the department, College, University, and the professions and disciplines; public service, outreach, and engagement; accreditation activities; and professional development. Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
ABD or PhD in Political Science or a relevant discipline. Demonstrated teaching success
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Candidate must be comfortable interacting with students of varying backgrounds and abilities, and able to provide appropriate guidance and support regarding coursework. Prior teaching experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
ABD or PhD in Political Science or a related discipline. Experience teaching as instructor of record.

Compensation Pay Range:
$49,000 The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon the candidate's qualifications.
