Our mission is to foster a love of learning through a creative-based curriculum that integrates academic learning with the highest standards in early childhood education. Newly acquired and fully renovated facility. Job Description We are seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Director to lead our team and manage the daily operations of our center. The Director will set the tone for the facility, oversee curriculum implementation, manage staff, and uphold the center's reputation for excellence. This role requires ensuring compliance with all local and federal laws (California Title 22 and Title 5 regulations) related to the physical environment and staffing. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management Establish and enforce policies and procedures for day-to-day operations. Communicate center policies effectively to families and staff. Handle issues involving facility operations, parents, and staff professionally. Serve as the Owner's representative in their absence. Staff Supervision Hire, train, and evaluate staff members. Organize monthly professional development and ensure staff meet regulatory requirements. Conduct or coordinate staff training to comply with industry and government regulations. Review and certify staff timecards weekly for payroll processing. Financial Management Collect tuition fees from private-pay families and parent fees from subsidized families. Ensure billing accuracy and timeliness. Program Development Develop educational programs adhering to childcare standards. Oversee lesson planning and coordinate school activities with curriculum objectives. Collaborate with child protection services or agencies when necessary. Monitor student progress and facilitate improvement plans with teachers and families. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Title 22 and Title 5 regulations, including ECRS and DRDP assessments. Maintain professional and violation-free licensing visits. Renew licenses and certifications in a timely manner and prepare necessary government reports. Ensure staff maintain educational requirements and appropriate caregiver-to-attendee ratios. Maintain safety standards, food quality, and a clean environment. Qualifications Due to the high number of Spanish-speaking families, fluency in Spanish is required Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, OR equivalent education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education management. Comprehensive knowledge of California Title 22 and Title 5 regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage budgets and financial aspects of the center. Passionate about early childhood education and child development. How would you work with the teacher to improve the score before a formal assessment? A licensing analyst arrives for an unannounced visit and asks to see your staff files. Two staff files are incomplete. What do you do in the moment, and how would you address it afterward? You notice one of your lead teachers has fallen behind on DRDP observations and checkpoints, and the reporting deadline is in two weeks. How would you support them and ensure the assessments are completed accurately and on time? One of your assistant teachers has been repeatedly late to work, causing classroom ratio issues. How do you respond to both the family and the teacher? You receive notice that your Title 5 CSPP classroom is out of compliance with ratio and instructional minutes. What immediate and long-term steps do you take to bring the classroom back into compliance? You are preparing for a licensing renewal and realize your facility roster and immunization logs are out of date. Walk us through how you would organize and delegate the work to ensure full compliance. During staff observations, you notice inconsistent classroom management and teacher engagement across multiple rooms. What is your process for training and improving overall instructional quality?
