Our educational philosophy blends elements of the Reggio Emilia approach with Montessori principles, creating a child-centered environment where exploration, independence, and community are at the heart of everything we do. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Temporary Preschool Director to lead our program during the summer months (June through August). This full-time leadership role is ideal for an early childhood education professional who is enthusiastic about Spanish immersion, collaborative teaching models, and progressive education philosophies. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the preschool program Support and mentor teaching staff in implementing our Reggio-Montessori-inspired curriculum Ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 2-5 Maintain strong communication with families, including tours and enrollment support Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and school policies Coordinate summer programming, events, and activities Foster a positive, collaborative school culture Qualifications Must meet California Title 22 licensing requirements for a Preschool Director Minimum 12 core units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development Minimum 3 units in Administration or Supervision Fluency in Spanish (required) Strong understanding of Reggio Emilia and/or Montessori philosophies Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with California state licensing regulations Proficiency with basic computer systems, including email, document management, and school management software Preferred Qualities Warm, collaborative leadership style Passion for inquiry-based and child-led learning Ability to adapt and lead in a dynamic summer program environment Compensation Full-time position (June-August) Monthly pay range: $4,500 - $5,250 , depending on experience and qualifications Potential for future opportunities beyond the summer term How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter describing your experience with Spanish immersion and progressive early childhood education approaches.
