This role ensures the program meets all state licensing requirements, maintains a safe and nurturing environment, and delivers high‑quality enrichment aligned with school and district expectations. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & Operations Oversee daily operations of the licensed childcare program, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient functioning. Develop schedules, activity plans, and enrichment curriculum (STEM, arts, sports, homework support, etc.). Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, medication logs, and licensing documentation. Coordinate with school administrators, custodial staff, and district partners to ensure alignment with school policies. Regulatory Compliance Ensure full compliance with California Community Care Licensing (CCLD) regulations for school‑age childcare. Maintain required staff‑to‑child ratios, supervision standards, and facility safety requirements. Prepare for and manage licensing inspections, audits, and corrective action plans. Ensure all staff meet mandated training requirements (CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter, Health & Safety, etc.). Child Safety & Well‑Being Establish and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and behavior expectations. Respond to incidents, injuries, or behavioral concerns with professionalism and documentation. Maintain a positive, inclusive environment that supports social‑emotional development and respectful peer interactions. Staff Management Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and coaches. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development. Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage at all times. Model professional communication and uphold high standards of conduct. Family & School Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, guardians, and school leadership. Communicate program updates, behavior concerns, and incident follow‑ups in a timely, professional manner. Build strong relationships with families and maintain a customer‑service-oriented culture. Collaborate with principals, teachers, and district partners to support student needs. Program Quality & Curriculum Implement age‑appropriate enrichment activities aligned with program goals (STEM, robotics, arts, sports, literacy, etc.). Monitor classroom environments to ensure engagement, safety, and instructional quality. Evaluate program effectiveness and introduce improvements based on feedback and observations. QualificationsRequired Must meet California Licensed Childcare Director requirements, including: 18-24 ECE units (depending on pathway) including Child Development, Child Family & Community, and Program/Curriculum. At least 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare setting. Current CPR/First Aid , Mandated Reporter , and Health & Safety certifications. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage staff, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive culture. Experience working with elementary‑age children in structured programs. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Education, Recreation, or related field. Experience managing after‑school or school‑based enrichment programs. Familiarity with CCLD Title 22 regulations and school district operational procedures. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors. Lift up to 25-30 lbs occasionally (equipment, supplies). Work afternoon/evening hours aligned with school schedules; occasional mornings for meetings or training. Performance Indicators Compliance with all licensing regulations. High parent satisfaction and positive school partnerships. Strong staff retention and performance. Safe, engaging, and well‑managed program environment. Accurate documentation and timely communication.

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
