Early Childhood Director

The Director leads all aspects of school operations and is the primary champion for both families and staff. You'll work closely with ownership to build the culture, team, and program that define Smart Start's reputation in the community. Lead family enrollment — building relationships with prospective families and guiding them through the enrollment process Recruit, hire, and evaluate teaching staff; foster a collaborative, supportive work environment Support the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate, enriching curriculum Oversee day-to-day operations of a full-day program (7 am - 6 pm), including scheduling, compliance, and safety Partner with ownership on program growth, quality improvement, and long-term planning Must have or be qualified for OEC CT Head Teacher Certificate 4+ years of experience Smart Start is a brand new full-day early childhood program opening in Norwalk's West Rocks neighborhood, designed to serve nearly 100 children from birth through age five. Our founders bring the experience of operating three established schools and are committed to building a program rooted in enriching curriculum, strong community, and a genuine passion for early learning. School hours:
