Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Site Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the program at their assigned site. This includes ensuring high-quality programming, strong staff performance, student safety, and positive relationships with families and school partners. The Site Director sets the tone for site culture and takes full ownership of daily operations, compliance, and program excellence in alignment with The Future Stars standards.Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Leadership & Quality Oversee daily site operations, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging program environment. Ensure all programming aligns with The Future Stars curriculum, expectations, and quality standards. Monitor program quality through regular observation, feedback, and coaching. Ensure consistent and intentional implementation of enrichment programming across all groups. Plan and oversee all site-specific day-off camps, including scheduling, staffing, programming, and communication with families, ensuring a high-quality and well-organized experience 2. Staff Management & Development Supervise all site staff, including the Assistant Site Director, instructors, and support staff. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management. Lead staff meetings and ensure clear communication of expectations and priorities. Manage staff schedules, coverage, and ratios to ensure compliance and smooth operations. Support hiring, onboarding, and training in collaboration with leadership. 3. Student Support & Behavior Oversight Oversee behavior management systems and ensure consistent implementation across the site. Support escalated behavioral concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up. Ensure all incidents are properly documented and submitted on time. Communicate and collaborate with the Student Support & Policy Director on higher-level concerns and trends. 4. Safety, Health & Compliance Ensure full compliance with DCPS, OSSE, and program safety requirements. Maintain proper staff coverage, ratios, and supervision at all times. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation. Maintain active AOM-certified staff coverage at all times and ensure proper administration of medication when needed. Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site emergencies. 5. Family & School Partnership Management Serve as the primary point of contact for families. Build and maintain strong relationships with school leadership and staff. Ensure consistent and professional communication with families. Represent The Future Stars positively within the school community. 6. Operations & Administrative Oversight Oversee attendance, dismissal, and daily logistics. Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting. Manage materials, supplies, and site organization. Support enrollment and overall program growth at the site level.Qualifications:
The Site Director must meet DC OSSE licensing requirements for a Center Director and demonstrate the ability to lead a high-quality, compliant program. Candidates must meet one of the following pathways : Have completed at least 48 college credit hours from an accredited institution, including 15 credit hours in early childhood education or early childhood development , and have at least 4 years of supervised experience working with children in a licensed child development center (or equivalent); OR Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, with at least 15 credit hours in early childhood education, early childhood development, elementary education, or early special education , and have at least 1 year of supervised experience working with children in a licensed child development center (or equivalent); OR Hold an Associate's degree in early childhood education or early childhood development , with at least 3 years of supervised experience working with children in a licensed child development center (or equivalent), and commit to obtaining a Bachelor's degree within 6 years of hire.Additional Requirements:
Must obtain and maintain DCPS Administration of Medication (AOM) certification Strong leadership and team management skills Experience in afterschool, enrichment, or out-of-school-time programming preferred Strong understanding of child development, behavior management, and program operationsPay:
