Job Description

Position Overview The Rosen JCC is in search of a skilled and talented Assistant Director to help lead and strengthen our Learning Center. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team of educators and administrators who are passionate about providing exceptional learning experiences for young children and their families. This role is ideal for an ambitious and experienced educational leader who enjoys mentoring teachers, implementing innovative curriculum, and contributing to a positive school culture. Key Responsibilities
  • Create daily and weekly lesson plans for multiple age groups using school-approved curriculum.
  • Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and modeling to teachers.
  • Administrative duties include submitting VPK attendance and administering state testing.
  • Incorporate exposure to Jewish values and holidays into families' experience.
  • Foster positive family partnerships by communicating regularly with parents about student progress, classroom activities, and developmental milestones.
  • Up to date with current curriculum and instructional strategies, including STEAM-focused curriculum, social-emotional learning, and conscious discipline.
  • Able to serve as an ambassador for our programs through parent and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to support school‑wide initiatives, curriculum alignment, and program goals.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood and Kindergarten education.
  • Experience working with special needs children a plus.
  • Able and willing to assume responsibility for the daily management of the Learning Center in the absence of the Director. Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role in education (Early Childhood Education preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree required; Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred.
  • Active Director Credential
  • Comfortable working within a setting that includes Jewish values and holiday exposure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. (Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus!)
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.
License/Certification:
  • Director Credential (Required)
