The Daycare Director is responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children while managing staff, maintaining licensing compliance, supporting families, and overseeing administrative functions. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Administration Manage the overall operation of the daycare center Supervise, train, and evaluate teachers and support staff Develop and implement policies and procedures Create staff schedules and oversee daily classroom operations Maintain accurate records, reports, and enrollment information Monitor center budgets, expenses, and supplies Childcare & Education Ensure high-quality educational and developmental programs Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children Support age-appropriate curriculum planning and implementation Monitor child development and classroom performance Address behavioral or developmental concerns with staff and parents Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and safety standards Maintain required certifications, inspections, and documentation Oversee emergency preparedness and health procedures Ensure proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times Parent & Community Relations Build positive relationships with parents and families Address parent concerns professionally and promptly Conduct tours and assist with enrollment processes Promote the daycare center within the community Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of childcare or preschool management experience Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills CPR and First Aid certification preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Required Skills Staff leadership and team development Classroom and behavior management Budgeting and administrative oversight Problem-solving and conflict resolution Excellent verbal and written communication Proficiency with childcare management software and Microsoft Office Work Environment Full-time position May require occasional evening meetings or special events Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and actively engage with children and staff Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off and holidays Health and retirement benefits (if applicable) Professional development opportunities Equal Opportunity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
