Job Description

Job Summary:
The mission of the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency, Inc., in collaboration with public and private partners, is to provide social services that address the needs of disadvantaged individuals. The Senior Center Manager is responsible for the daily management and supervision of the nutrition program and activities for the elderly and staff at the Byron Senior Center. This position is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Services Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day management and supervision of the staff and programs at the senior center to include: congregate meals, home delivered meals, activities and transportation programs. Develop activities and arrange speakers/classes to promote the health and overall well being of the participants served; maintain a calendar of activities. Ensure contract compliance in regards to the Home Delivered Meal participants and meal service to congregate meal participants. Provide outreach through both printed literature and verbally to inform the community and other social service agencies of services available to promote the program and participation. Ensures goals are being met in regard to participation and meals are served in accordance with the contract. Responsible for program materials, including inventories and records in assigned county. Responsible for required reports to supervisor; maintaining proper files and records of the clients and program activities and submitting them in a timely manner. Ensuring compliance with all program grants and contracts requirements and procedures as well as other pertinent laws and regulations; monitoring to assure compliance and obtaining required certifications. Documenting, collecting, preparing reports, and safe guarding program income and private pay funds and forwarding funds to the corporate office weekly. Maintain a clean and orderly center and make sure center safety and all required inspections are current. Keep supervisor informed of program progress and problems; reports suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of any client to
DFACS/APS.
Implement and direct fund raising guidelines and activities. These duties are not all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other related duties as assigned by the department head, supervisor, or other member of management. Minimum Requirements of the Position Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551) Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT
TO EXCEED 6 PTS
) Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children. Must have and maintain a private automobile with proper liability insurance and a valid Georgia driver's license. High school diploma required Two year or four year degree preferred in human services related field Related experience working in a group setting with the elderly population is desired . Must be able to work with minimum supervision and must have working knowledge of basic computer systems.
