Job Description

Katie's Kids Learning Center Serving two locations Katie's Kids Learning Center is dedicated to providing high-quality child care for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years. We are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes growth, learning, and development for every child and staff member. KKLC is seeking a passionate, organized, and motivated Director of Professional Development to join our leadership team. This position plays a vital role in supporting staff growth, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring a strong onboarding experience for all new team members. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to excellence in early childhood education and professional mentorship. Position Responsibilities Orientate and train all new team members during their first 90 days of employment utilizing the KKLC Education Plan Conduct classroom observations, regular check-ins, and complete 90-day evaluations for new employees Coach, mentor, and support teaching teams to meet KKLC expectations Complete consistent classroom observations and support the implementation of NAC Accreditation standards Coordinate, maintain, and provide professional development opportunities for team members Assist team members with Illinois Gateways programs and requirements Support administrative and secretarial tasks as needed Travel between and support both center locations Qualifications Must be Director Qualified per DCFS standards A minimum of an associate degree from an accredited college or university in child development or early childhood education The equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours in any discipline, with a minimum of 21 semester hours or 31.5 quarter hours from an accredited college or university in courses related to child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education) and one of the following: Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential 3 semester hours or 4.5 quarter hours of college credit in childcare administration, leadership, or management 3 points of credential-approved training in childcare administration, leadership, or management. Previous experience in early childhood education leadership preferred Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Knowledge of DCFS licensing standards Familiarity with NAC Accreditation standards preferred Experience with Illinois Gateways Registry and professional development systems preferred Proficient with basic computer and administrative tasks Benefits Supportive leadership team Professional and collaborative work environment Opportunity to make a lasting impact on team member development and program quality Competitive pay based on experience, education, and qualifications If you are passionate about supporting educators and helping programs maintain high-quality standards, we would love to hear from you.
