Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Early Childhood Education to lead the daily operations of our early childhood education center. This leadership role is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The Director will oversee educational programming, staff leadership and development, facility operations, financial management, parent engagement, and organizational growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with proven experience managing a child care center or early learning program. They will bring a passion for early childhood education, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive environment for children, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the child care center. Maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment for all children. Develop, implement, and monitor educational programs and curricula that meet state and federal licensing standards. Ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with applicable regulations. Supervise, support, and evaluate teaching staff while promoting ongoing professional development. Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train new employees in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements. Stay current on industry best practices, licensing requirements, and early childhood education standards through ongoing professional development. Build positive relationships with families through regular communication, conferences, and policy discussions. Manage the center's budget, accounts, and financial performance to ensure operational sustainability. Develop and implement marketing, enrollment, and community outreach strategies. Prepare reports and provide updates on organizational performance to the board of directors or leadership team. Research grant opportunities, prepare grant applications, and manage awarded grant programs. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Valid child care center director licensure or credentials as required by state regulations. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with prior leadership or management experience preferred. Knowledge of local, state, and federal child care regulations and licensing requirements. Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Financial management and budgeting experience preferred. Experience with grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit administration is a plus. Professional, approachable, and compassionate demeanor with a genuine passion for working with children and families.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
