We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Director at RISE Preschool. The RISE Preschool Director will coordinate administrative oversight and plan all phases of leadership for the school including educational programming, professional development, administration, budgetary planning, and discipline. This is a 210 day position. This posting will close on May 14, 2026, at midnight.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily management and ancillary services of the school and office. Oversees educators in the school, providing observations and evaluations that are timely and constructive and completed based on the timetables set by the school district. Offers additional training and guidance based on evaluations of professional staff. Oversees, hires, and evaluates the performance of all faculty and staff for the school. Plans, coordinates, and conducts ongoing professional and staff development.Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensures a safe and engaging learning environment where social, emotional, and cognitive developmental needs are addressed through continual collaboration with teachers, students, and parents. Provide opportunities for children to take responsibility, make decisions, and learn through play in mixed-aged classrooms. Ensures knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum, interactions, and environments Maintain develop or modify curriculum to meet the needs of children enrolled in the Preschool and remain current with developments in the field Oversee and assist the Preschool Staff in administering, planning and evaluating activities and lesson plans that promote developmentally-appropriate learning Administers the implementation of educational plans for students with special needs, in accordance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations. Initiates parent meetings and conferences and acts as intermediary between parents, teachers, and students to deal with a variety of needs or issues. Ensures completion of routine and required paperwork and screenings. Coordinates professional development for faculty and staff; provides instruction if needed. Coordinates the development and implementation of the school improvement plan which is aligned to the district improvement plan. Oversees the ordering and allocation of supplies and equipment. Oversees and implements the school budget, approving new programs and expenditures as appropriate, in conjunction with the School Council, the Director of Finance and Operations, and the Superintendent. Participates in community activities, in-services, and meetings as appropriate. Interacts with various stakeholders to foster a positive relationship between the school and community including the PTO, community organizations, and leaders. Acts as liaison between the district and the school; communicates needs and information to both sides. Collaborates with other principals and educators throughout the district in coordinating academic standards, instructional programs, curriculum, and other system-wide responses that align with local, state, and national standards. Interacts with various stakeholders to foster a positive relationship between the school and community including the PTO, community organizations, leaders and Early Childhood community partners with regard to Proportionate Share. Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge base of Early Childhood Education, Evaluation, Curriculum, and Special Education. Familiarity with the MA Early Intervention program. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to professionally and effectively communicate with educators, parents, and community leaders. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective administration of multifaceted operations. Thorough understanding of applicable local, state, and federal educational laws, regulations, policies, and requirements. Thorough understanding of instructional methodology. Knowledge of best practices in education and educational administration. Ability to identify and solve problems. Creative thinking skills. Ability to create, understand, and implement budgets and budgeting practices. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education/Experience:
Master's degree, 5+ years of teaching experience, and Principal/Assistant Principal license required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and occasionally move throughout the school building as needed. Regular use of hands for typing, handling objects, and operating tools is required, along with sufficient grip strength for various tasks. The role involves frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer. The employee must be able to enter data, read from screens, and review handwritten or printed materials, with or without visual aids. Clear and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues—both in person and over the phone—is essential. Strong visual and auditory awareness is necessary to ensure student safety and provide meaningful feedback to instructional staff.WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in this environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day and location. The employee interacts with students, parents, and other staff members and occasionally must meet multiple demands from several people. While the majority of the workday is spent inside, the employee must spend time outdoors for fire drills and special activities.
