Job Description

Join our growing team at Young Horizons School as a Curriculum Director! The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood education, and a passion for supporting teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences. This role is key in ensuring that our Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies are implemented effectively and age-appropriately across all classrooms. Salary is based on Education, Certifications, and Experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (Required) OR Bachelor's/Associate's Degree in a related field with necessary certifications to work in a classroom (Required) 5 years of experience working with preschoolers (Required) Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD and Creative Curriculum (Required) 45 clock hours or the equivalent of approved administrative training (Required) CPR Certification (Required)
Responsibilities:
Train and Mentor Teachers:
Provide ongoing training and coaching to teachers on lesson planning, Creative Curriculum implementation, and classroom management strategies.
Collaborative Curriculum Planning:
Work alongside teachers to design engaging, age-appropriate activities that align with developmental milestones and school standards.
Classroom Support:
Offer in-class modeling, co-teaching, and hands-on guidance to help teachers bring the curriculum to life in their classrooms.
Individualized Teacher Support:
Identify each teacher's strengths and areas for growth, tailoring support to meet their professional development needs.
Curriculum Consistency:
Ensure that curriculum and lesson plans are implemented consistently across all classrooms while allowing space for creativity and teacher input. Conduct monthly classroom observations to provide feedback and coaching. Assist the School Director in daily operations and overall program management. Support teachers in creating classrooms that foster growth, exploration, and learning. Prepare and maintain an inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies needed for curriculum implementation. Develop and oversee an ongoing program of activities that nurtures the care, growth, and development of children. Foster positive communication and collaboration among staff, families, and the school community. Provide professional development opportunities and share best practices in early childhood education. Help ensure compliance with all licensing, safety, and quality standards.
