Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Preschool to lead and inspire our early childhood education programs in a play-based setting. Whimsy Kids is inspired by Reggio Emilia in a boutique preschool. We believe the magic of learning comes through play. The Director is pivotal and involves overseeing daily operations, fostering a nurturing learning environment, and ensuring the highest standards of educational excellence. The Director will develop strategic plans to enhance program quality, manage budgets effectively, and lead a dedicated team of educators and staff. Passionate about early childhood development and education administration, the ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, and a commitment to creating an engaging, inclusive preschool experience for young learners. Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic plans to promote educational excellence and program growth within the preschool. Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, safety standards, and quality benchmarks. Manage budgeting processes, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor financial performance to support program sustainability. Lead, mentor, and evaluate teaching staff and administrative personnel to foster a motivated and high-performing team. Cultivate a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports the social-emotional development of children. Collaborate with families, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance program offerings and community engagement. Ensure adherence to educational policies, curriculum standards, and best practices in early childhood education. Qualifications Proven experience in education administration with a focus on early childhood or preschool programs. Strong background in management, strategic planning, and budgeting within an educational setting. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and foster professional growth. Knowledge of preschool curriculum development and teaching methodologies. Experience working within university or higher education environments is preferred. Excellent communication skills for engaging with staff, families, and community partners. Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that promotes diversity and equity in early childhood education. Commitment to fostering a positive, fun culture and community involvement. Must currently possess all MSDE requirements for the role.
