Job Description

What You'll Do Oversee the daily operations of the center, including staffing, scheduling, facility management, and program activities. Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, licensing regulations, and health and safety requirements. Coordinate with program leadership to address operational, staffing, and programmatic needs. Respond promptly to center concerns, emergencies, and operational challenges. Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate center staff. Monitor classroom environments to ensure they are safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Build strong relationships with families and encourage active participation in the program. Collaborate with Family Engagement staff to support family needs and connect families to community resources. Maintain accurate documentation related to attendance, assessments, staff certifications, and compliance requirements. Prepare reports and documentation for leadership, funders, and regulatory agencies. Develop action plans to address areas of improvement and maintain program excellence. What You'll Need Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. NC Childcare Administration Credentials Level 3 Minimum of three (3) years of experience in early childhood education. Previous supervisory, management, or leadership experience. Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and family engagement practices. Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with technology for communication, documentation, and data management. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Experience working within Head Start or Early Head Start programs. Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and federal compliance requirements. Experience with program monitoring, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives.
