Job Description

Director Job description: At Sounds and Colors we are Inspired by Reggio Emilia, Immersed in Spanish, and Grounded in Love. We are seeking a full-time Director to lead our Meadowlands location. The Director provides daily and strategic leadership and oversight for all center operations, including staff supervision, family communication, enrollment management, budgeting, curriculum support, and program growth. The Director works closely with the Sounds and Colors leadership team to meet the needs of our school community. Sounds and Colors directors are committed, energetic, passionate and knowledgeable! Their love for early childhood education, children, their school community, and high-quality standards shows in everything they do.
Duties and Responsibilities:
People Management:
Maintain a fully functional teaching and auxiliary staff of ~ 30 employees through recruitment, retainment, coaching, and accountability. Support a strong positive culture based on the NAEYC Ethical Code of Conduct, program values, and individual center needs. Promote ongoing professional development and education for all staff. Coordinate supports for classrooms serving children with special rights (disabilities and/or exceptionalities).
Daily Operations:
Manage safety, quality, confidentiality, and professionalism of daily routines and procedures. Maintain all files and documentation in accordance with requirements. Maintain child enrollment and proactive recruitment. Ensure curriculum standards are maintained and prioritized. Manage school newsletters and google albums. Ensure brightwheel and other technologies are used appropriately.
Family and Community:
Serve as an ambassador for Sounds and Colors in the community. Build strong, authentic relationships with families and community partners. Address parent concerns and support home-school relationships. Ensure all new families are welcomed warmly.
Financial Management:
Maintain steady enrollment. Ensure tuition and fees are collected in a timely fashion. Manage staff hours, timeclock, and payroll procedures. Provide resource stewardship for your center.
Position Requirements:
Meet 5 Star Director qualifications in NC's Pathway to the Stars (https://ncchildcare.ncdhhs.gov/Portals/0/documents/pdf/E/Education_Standards-Center_OnSite_Administrator.pdf?ver=oEDIqRsO-CqRywMsDSJi6A%3d%3d). Knowledge of and experience with Early Childhood Education best practices. Knowledge and understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach. Knowledge of and adherence to the NAEYC Ethical Code of Conduct and Supplement for Administrators. Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills. Proficiency in Google suite, brightwheel, and comfort using technology. Demonstrated comfort in Spanish speaking environments. Ability to problem solve under pressure. Experience building relationships with diverse communities. Ability to meet the physical requirements of a high-energy child care center. Commitment to lifelong learning
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
