Assigned Elementary School Position Summary:
The Elementary & ECECD Site Director is responsible for the daily operation of a licensed childcare program at an assigned Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico Elementary site. This position ensures a safe, positive environment that supports academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development for students in grades K-5. The Site Director oversees staff, maintains compliance with state ECECD regulations, and partners with school leadership and families to provide high-quality youth development programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Implementation Implement BGCA Blueprint - BluePrint for Youth Impact.pdf Plan, coordinate, and implement daily program activities aligned with Club goals and ECECD licensing requirements. Ensure curriculum is age-appropriate and supports academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, and physical development. Provide direct supervision to members and support staff during program hours. Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for youth, staff, and families. Site & Staff Management Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Youth Development Professionals and program aides. Schedule staff shifts to meet ratio requirements and ensure adequate coverage at all times. Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions. Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, and staff files in accordance with licensing standards. Safety Compliance & Licensing Ensure full compliance with Boys & Girls Clubs Safety Policies - BGCCNM Safety Manual - Adopted 7-1-2024 Ensure full compliance with ECECD childcare licensing requirements, including safety, health, and staff qualifications. Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation for licensing visits and inspections. Monitor and maintain site cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols. Family & School Engagement Build strong relationships with families through daily communication, newsletters, and parent meetings. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and community partners to support shared goals. Respond promptly and professionally to family concerns or incidents. Administrative & Financial Meet monthly goals for program attendance and ECECD contracts. Track and report daily attendance and meal counts for reimbursement programs. Submit required reports to Boys & Girls Clubs administration and ECECD as needed. Monitor program supplies and site budget.
Qualifications:
Must meet ECECD qualifications for a Site Director in a licensed childcare setting (e.g., associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or related field; or approved substitute qualifications). Minimum 3 years of experience working with youth in a licensed or educational setting. Supervisory experience is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Must pass a background check and meet state clearance requirements.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, typically 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM during the school year and full-day hours (e.g., 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM) during school breaks or summer programming. Morning Program - hours
TBD Physical and Working Conditions:
Active work with children, including indoor/outdoor activities. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and participate in recreational activities.
