  • Friday Discovery Kids Learning Center, located in Getzville, New York, serves more than 100 families each year through its daycare for children ages 6 weeks
  • preschool, before/after school programs, and summer camps.
We combine the expertise of our teachers with a nationally recognized curriculum, and each day create a safe, nurturing environment children discover a world of learning. Discovery Kids is located in a state-of-the-art building owned by The Summit Center. Our toddler and preschool classrooms are integrated with Summit Academy, a school for children with autism and developmental delays. Our toddler and preschool rooms use Creative Curriculum and Core Knowledge Language Arts Curriculum (CKLA), respectively, and we have adopted the Pyramid Model to ensure that additional social and emotional elements are incorporated within a play-based model. A solid phonics-based reading program ensures that pre-requisite reading skills are embedded in daily routines and play-based learning. Discover Kids Learning Center is seeking a child care professional skilled in leadership, customer service, and curriculum development to serve as our Center Director. As a Center Director you will work side by side with staff, children, and families. You will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the center, which includes implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, child safety, administrative duties, management and training of staff, and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily administrative needs of the Daycare Oversee human resource responsibilities Manage program development and implementation Establish and maintain fiscal responsibility for the Daycare Cultivate relationships with other entities Perform any other projects or duties as requested by your supervisor
REQUIRED
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in early childhood or related field Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience Experience with
OCFS CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
