  • 25 per hour based on qualifications and experience Inspire Young Minds Through Nature, Science, and Play The Art Farm is seeking an energetic, organized, and nurturing Preschool Summer Camp Extended Day Director to lead our afternoon summer camp program on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early childhood educator who enjoys mentoring staff, engaging with families, and creating meaningful learning experiences for young children. Our unique preschool program combines science, nature, and hands-on exploration to foster curiosity and creativity in children ages 2-4. As the Extended Day Director, you will oversee the afternoon program, support teaching staff, and help ensure a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for every camper. This seasonal position runs from June 22 through August 21, 2026, with the potential to return annually. Training may be available during the week of June 15-18. Schedule June 22

  • 25 per hour based on experience and qualifications Opportunity for annual seasonal rehire Collaborative and supportive leadership team Meaningful work in a creative, nature-based educational environment Responsibilities Oversee two preschool classrooms serving children ages 2-4 Lead and manage the extended day summer camp program Supervise and support extended day teachers to ensure program excellence Ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of all campers and staff Facilitate hands-on learning experiences aligned with our science and nature-based philosophy Communicate professionally with parents during daily pick-up times Ensure compliance with all NYC Department of Health regulations and safety procedures Supervise outdoor activities and excursions to the local park Manage daily closing procedures and end-of-day reporting Collaborate closely with the Head of School, Preschool Educational Director, and Executive Director Maintain a positive, organized, and welcoming camp environment
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field Minimum of two years of documented experience as a group teacher working with children under six years of age Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Passion for early childhood education and child development
Preferred:
New York State Teacher Certification Master's degree Background in Special Education Ideal Candidate You are a dedicated educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys balancing leadership responsibilities with direct engagement with children, families, and staff.
