Full Job Description General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for all on-site planning, supervision, implementation and management of one program site, serving children in grades K-5 in school setting. Job Responsibilities:
Plans and implements daily activities and projects/initiatives for youth in grades K-5 in alignment with the Ohio K-12 Learning Standards Ensures compliance with all agency and Department of Youth Services licensing requirements, Step Up to Quality, and accreditation standards (if applicable) Engages with students (in-person) and parents, school/community partners, and YWCA personnel (email, phone, and in-person), in a positive, professional, and cooperative manner, to keep them informed of program activities and special events and address questions and concerns Purchases all necessary equipment and supplies and operates within specified monthly budget Performance Expectations:
Directs on-site supervision of all staff, including participating in hiring process and maintaining appropriate disciplinary and performance records Completes professional development plan with all new staff within 30 days of hire, and ensures staff compliance with plan, required trainings, and completes performance evaluations. Responsible for conducting monthly staff meetings with the goal of improving Maintains expense reports and submits to Kids Place District Leaders monthly Attends all required training courses and scheduled staff meetings Assists District Leaders in annual marketing strategies that highlight the program's strengths Qualifications:
Education:
4-year degree in Elementary Education, Child Development, Recreation or related field, or a two-year degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development combined with child-care experience; A Child Development Associate Certification from an accredited program combined with childcare experience; minimum 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in Child Development/Early Childhood Education; or School Age Endorsement III (Administrator) Experience:
One-year experience in childcare or school-age children in a classroom or group setting and curriculum planning experience. Supervisory experience desired. Required Knowledge:
Proven ability to collaborate with staff, parents, school personnel, and professionals. Strong knowledge of youth practices, child safety, and well-being. Dependable, trustworthy, and committed to strong work ethics. Familiar with Department of Youth Child Care Licensing Rules and Ohio Step Up to Quality initiatives. Core Competencies:
