This role supervises teaching staff including lead teachers, assistant teachers, student teachers, and substitute or floating teachers. The Director maintains program compliance in accordance with ODCY, ODE, and Gold Step Up to Quality standards. They also assist in managing applications, contracts, and data for Publicly Funded Child Care, the Early Childhood Education Grant, the Child Care Voucher Program, and other local grants.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily preschool operations, including: tours, enrollment, curriculum and assessments, tuition tracking, parent communication, Brightwheel Child Care app operations, and staff management
- Meet licensing and program standards required by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, Ohio Department of Education, and Step Up to Quality (Gold)
- Assist families in completing and processing applications for Publicly Funded Childcare, the Early Childhood Education Grant, the Child Care Choice Voucher, Franklin County RISE, and other scholarship or subsidy programs
- Organize and submit contracts, attendance records, and financial records for scholarship or subsidy programs
- Ensure compliance with grant management and reporting requirements for key funding sources, including The City of Columbus, the State of Ohio, the Columbus Foundation and its entities, and United Way
- Maintain and cultivate partnerships with local organizations, including St. Vincent's Family Services, Children's Hunger Alliance, Integrated Services for Behavioral Health, Columbus Metropolitan Library, and Columbus State Community College
- Schedule and execute family engagement opportunities, including the Parents in Action Committee Meetings, Black History Month Celebration, Back to School Open House, Preschool Graduation, and other special events
- Engage in professional development (at least 15 hours each year) and secure professional development opportunities for teaching staff (at least 10 hours each year per teacher)
- Serve as a substitute or floater teacher, as needed
- Collaborate with President, VP, development team, and other supervisors for program budgeting, goals, and initiatives
Education and Experience:
An A.D. in Education or an approved related field or a CPL Level 3 required, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of activities with young children.
