Full-time Position:
Early Childhood Programs Director Position Summary:
The Early Childhood Programs Director is responsible to oversee Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency's Early Childhood Programs. The Early Childhood Programs Director coordinates the daily operations of the Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Head Start/EHS program and oversees the Help Me Grow program. The Director will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the Early Childhood Programs in accordance and compliance with all Federal and State regulations and standards. The Director will work in conjunction with the Head Start Policy Council and agency Board of Directors and will report directly to the Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Executive Director.
Qualifications/Expectations:
  • Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Business or related field and experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration. Minimum of three years' experience working in Head Start or a comparable program.
  • Must be knowledgeable of all federal, state, local laws, rules and regulations pertaining to Head Start and day care.
  • Must have knowledge of Child Development and be familiar with Early Childhood Education techniques and Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of other social service programs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sound management practices and have the ability to implement these practices in an effective manner.
  • Have skills and knowledge of technology to support program activities and maintain program data and documentation.
  • Must have the ability to lead and direct others with vision and respect.
  • Must possess good organization skills involving consistency, flexibility and structure; Computer skills recommended.
  • Able to work effectively with others from diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
  • Able to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Must possess good communication skills, have an understanding and awareness of the needs of low-income families, and be sensitive to individual differences.
  • Must work with all staff and families in a professional manner. Must be able and willing to accept and share additional responsibilities to achieve team goals.
  • Must demonstrate an appropriate professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
Beginning Salary:
$75,000 to $82,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
