Experience Experience in early childhood education : Look for someone with hands-on experience, ideally both in teaching and managing a daycare or preschool setting. Leadership experience : Prior experience as a director, assistant director, or lead teacher in a childcare setting is valuable. Knowledge of Licensing and Regulations Familiarity with state and local childcare licensing requirements to ensure compliance. Understanding of health, safety, and nutrition regulations for children. Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills Ability to connect with children and establish a warm, nurturing environment.
