As the Director of Northeast Community Child Development Center (NCCDC), you're the driving force behind our school's daily excellence— supporting high-performing staff, ensuring smooth operations, and keeping our cooperative school model strong. You'll guide staffing and team culture, oversee enrollment and licensing, shepherd our school into our next chapter with Preschool for All, strengthen family partnerships, and build the systems that help our school flourish. In this role, you'll also serve as Executive Director to the Board of Directors, helping steer the vision and future of our beloved community school. Key Responsibilities Human Resources Recruit, hire, onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate all staff Provide coaching, professional development, and performance management Implement and document corrective action or disciplinary measures when indicated Maintain staffing levels that meet licensing requirements and support program quality Foster trusting, collaborative, and inclusive staff culture Program & Operations Management Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for kids ages 12 months - 6 years. Comply with all state licensing regulations and certification requirements Fulfill all Preschool for All (PFA) program requirements for the '26-'27 school year Manage facility relationships, including coordination with the church landlord (non-religious affiliation) Strong preference for easy accessibility to school Family & Community Engagement Oversee family tours, enrollment processes, waitlists, and onboarding Build and maintain strong, respectful, trusted relationships with families Support the cooperative preschool environment and collaborate with Board Volunteer Coordinator to facilitate family involvement Ability to meaningfully engage with high support needs families Financial & Administrative Management Oversee payroll, purchasing, budgeting, and financial record-keeping Support grant writing and funding opportunities Provide timely financial information and reporting to the Board Treasurer Governance & Board Partnership Serve as Executive Director to the Board of Directors Lead monthly Board meetings and provide updates on operations, staffing, finances, and licensing Collaborate with the Board on policy development and long-term planning Organizational Leadership Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to serve as a trusted, steady leader Facilitate staff meetings and coordinate ongoing professional development Represent the school in community partnerships and regulatory interactions Demonstrated understanding of cooperative school structures and willingness to work closely with parent leadership Uphold the mission, values, and cooperative philosophy of the organization Minimum Qualifications Per Oregon licensing requirements, the Director must: Be at least 21 years old Have at least one year of training and/or experience in management and supervision of adults Have knowledge of child development for the ages served, demonstrated through education, experience, training, or references OR Hold documentation of achieving at least Step 9 in the Oregon Registry OR Have one of the above components plus an OCC-approved plan to complete the remaining requirement while maintaining program compliance Additional Requirements 3 years experience in early childhood learning setting Current enrollment in the Central Background Registry (CBR) Oregon Food Handler's Card Certificates in: Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect (RRCAN) Introduction to Child Care Health & Safety (ICCHS) Foundations of Learning Pediatric First Aid & CPR within 90 days of hire
