Purpose:
The Executive Director (ED) of the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organization. The ED ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services to children and families affected by abuse, while fostering strong multidisciplinary collaboration in a rural community setting. This role requires balance of program oversight, community engagement, grant management and administrative leadership. Keeping performance true to the mission and vision of the CAC model, ensures adherence to best practice standards, and assists the Advisory Board in planning for future development. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field. 5+ years of leadership or management experience; preferably in child welfare, nonprofit, or related field. Management skills and experience necessary to conduct financial, personnel and administrative duties of the Center, including grant writing and oversite. Previous experience working with the criminal justice or child welfare system and as a member of a multidisciplinary team is preferred. Previous experience or training in the forensic interviewing of child victims of abuse is also preferred. Salary:
The Executive Director position is a salaried position. Annual salary range is $50,000 - $55,000 commensurate with education and experience and is payable in 26 biweekly pay period. Requirements:
Demonstrated professional training and experience regarding trauma-informed care and child abuse response. Demonstrates strong development, leadership, and grant writing abilities. Establishes and maintains favorable working relationships with the Advisory Board, Multidisciplinary Team, community groups, associates, and staff. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills. Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check as permitted by regulation and updated child abuse clearances. Able to attend community and regional meetings/conferences. Must have access to a vehicle; possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Position is full-time, work hours primarily 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend hours for events or urgent client needs. Position must successfully complete specialized forensic interview training in accordance with the National Children's Alliance (NCA). Position Description:
Assist the Advisory Board by providing strategic leadership and vision in alignment with the CAC's mission and priorities. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare and manage annual budget. Ensure financial accountability and sustainability, especially in a rural funding environment. Actively seeks and pursues relevant funding opportunities including grants, donations, etc. Write grants and implements and monitors said grants when funded. Maintain quality assurance and program evaluation processes. Provide transparent updates on organizational performance and needs. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices consistent with accreditation standards (e.g., NCA). Develop, maintain, and encourage effective inter-agency partnerships between law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, advocacy, and medical and mental health providers. Participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. Support case review and MDT coordination. Serve as liaison between agencies to strengthen response to child abuse cases. Collaborates well with others through excellent communication, facilitation and mediation skills; demonstrates the ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate effectively. Has authority to hire/recruit, supervise, and evaluate employees of the CAC. Promote a positive, culturally competent, and trauma-informed workplace. Identify training needs and professional development opportunities. Assure ongoing education and training of staff, multidisciplinary team, and community on issues relevant to improved detection, investigation and intervention with abused children. Build partnerships with local stakeholders, schools, and community organizations. In absence of Forensic Interviewer, the ED is to conduct forensic interviews at the request of the CAC. Conducts forensic interviews of alleged child victims of abuse that are child friendly, developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive, objective, and legally sound. Abiding by best practice standards as outlined by NCA. Represent the CAC at public events, committees, and regional/state networks (PennCAC) all while increasing community awareness of child abuse prevention and CAC services. Other duties as specified.
