Duties Lead the planning and execution of daily camp activities, ensuring they are safe, inclusive, and engaging for all campers Manage and supervise camp staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative team environment Oversee camper safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans, maintaining compliance with health regulations Coordinate with program specialists to incorporate educational components such as theater, sports coaching, or arts into the camp schedule Foster a positive camp culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and good behavior among campers and staff Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns that arise during the camp session Maintain detailed records of daily activities, attendance, incidents, and safety checks to ensure smooth operations Experience Proven experience in working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring, or summer camps Classroom management skills are desirable with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certifications in first aid and CPR are desirable; additional certifications in special education or child psychology are a plus Previous experience in babysitting, teen camp counsellor or children and youth counseling enhances your ability to create well-rounded programs.
