We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Assistant Director of Education to join our amazing team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to support teachers, partner with families, maintain operational excellence, and help deliver the high-quality educational experience that The Goddard School is known for. The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Curriculum & Administration Implement and oversee the Wonder of Learning (WOL) curriculum. Train teachers on WOL and Kaymbu software. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (NAEYC, Cognia, TRS). Maintain student, teacher, and licensing records. Prepare reports and manage staffing schedules. Conduct required safety and disaster drills. Manage inventory and administrative operations. Fiscal Management Help manage payroll budgets. Oversee maintenance and repair systems. Licensing & Compliance Maintain licensing documentation and regulatory compliance. Build positive relationships with licensing agencies. Personnel Management Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and supervise staff. Manage schedules and conduct faculty meetings. Support staff development and performance. Program Leadership Conduct classroom observations and ratio checks. Review lesson plans, activity reports, portfolios, and classroom records. Coordinate professional development. Plan school-wide activities, transitions, and safety programs. Maintain curriculum quality and classroom effectiveness. Sales, Enrollment & Family Relations Welcome visitors and answer inquiries. Conduct school tours and enroll new families. Build relationships with families and community organizations. Meet with parents when needed.
Qualifications Summary Candidates generally need:
A degree or credential related to early childhood education (or a related field with specific coursework), plus Experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool, plus Management experience. The qualifications can be met through several pathways, including: Bachelor's degree + management experience. Associate degree + childcare and management experience. CDA/Early Childhood Credential + additional coursework + childcare and management experience. What This Role Looks Like Day-to-Day This position combines: Educational leadership (curriculum, teacher coaching, classroom quality) Operations management (scheduling, compliance, records, licensing) Human resources (hiring, training, staff management) Business development (enrollment, tours, family engagement) It's essentially the second-in-command to the Director and serves as both an educational leader and an operational manager for the school.
